Job Description

 Market research (Upstream work)

  • Identification of customer needs and market/industry trends
  • Contribute to building roadmaps by communicating the requirements with HQ product management groups
  • Serve as a market expert of the country (republic of Korea)
  • Analysis of competitive environment and estimation of market potentials
  • Evaluation of relative weakness/strength of product lines
  • Assistance with competitive product positioning

New product launches (Downstream work)  

  • Participate in launch process and work with headquarters teams to launch new products successfully to the country
  • In the launch process, a PMM works as the connection between central product marketing groups and local sales team
  • Support sales team to promote and ramp up sales for the new products  
  • Assist sales teams by providing strategic guidance for product positioning and by identifying target customers  

3rd party products portfolio (Category Management)

  • Strategic sourcing of new products and set up in system
  • Negotiation of purchasing contracts, non-disclosure agreements and special price negotiations for sales projects with volume or strategic importance
  • Management of price lists and price changes
  • Monitor the sales to ensure healthy growth of the assigned products
  • Determine the cause of product problems and deciding on and coordinating measures to eliminate the problem
  • Reconciliation of the global portfolio of the assigned product category in coordination with local sales team and senior management
  • Coordination of product documentation and training concepts

Support market communications team

  • Cooperation with marketing communications team to support for effective marketing materials and promotion activities 

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (science, technology, engineering) or equivalent. A post-graduate degree is preferred (e.g., MBA)
  • 5 to 10 years’ working experience in product marketing, sales, or application engineer. Experience in sales is a strong plus
  • Working experience in machine vision or similar industry (e.g., computer vision, factory automation, robotics) is a strong plus
  • Understanding of financial concepts and implications on business decisions
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving ability, and sense of ownership
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced in spoken and written English is a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication skills and analytical skills
